I was reading Sing's blog (nice blogskin btw) and I have to say that my posting "Let's Raise our glasses" was not written sarcastically. I repeat. I did NOT write that posting sarcastically. Contrary to popular belief, I am not sarcastic ALL the time. If you guys re-read that entry, you would realise that I did say that I sounded pessimistic and sad. Which was what I was feeling when I wrote that. Of course there's a touch of irony there too. Don't you guys get it? There's a difference between irony and sarcasm (although it may be a thin line between those 2). It pisses me off when people think that I'm sarcastic that often.

sarcasm:
1. A cutting, often ironic remark intended to wound. (which wasn't my intention!!!)
2. A form of wit that is marked by the use of sarcastic language and is intended to make its victim the butt of contempt or ridicule.

irony:
1.
a. The use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning.
b. An expression or utterance marked by a deliberate contrast between apparent and intended meaning.
c. A literary style employing such contrasts for humorous or rhetorical effect. See Synonyms at wit1.

2.
a. Incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs: “Hyde noted the irony of Ireland's copying the nation she most hated” (Richard Kain).
b. An occurrence, result, or circumstance notable for such incongruity. See Usage Note at ironic.

3. Dramatic irony.
4. Socratic irony.

Besides, I couldn't write down ALL the reasons why Mystique can't be registered. I can't say why Sing's parents aren't willing to allow her to put her name down. Hence, I had to generalise and say that some people want it temporary. It's facts. It's not sarcasm. I can't write everything down because there's a privacy issue not on my part but because of the parties involved. *sigh* I thought that especially you guys ought to know me well enough.
