As I had posted previously, I took part in my estate's Mid Autumn Fest Bazaar on Saturday. It was sunny and the pool really beckoned but I was there with my stuff!

Not only was I there with my jewellery, I had instock Cher Bags, Chloe pouches, the Coach pouch and wristlet, Jill Stuart bag, Tsumori Chisato pouches, Tsumori Chisato bags, hand woven bags and second-hand books.

Although the bazaar was only from 11am-3pm, I thank everyone who came to my stall! Sales were a lot more brisk and I'm thankful to those who took my card and noted that I do bespoke pieces. I promise to update my website as soon as possible!! I have made quite a few new pieces but my camera's faulty so I can't take any nice shots of them to post yet. :( I went to the Sony Care this afternoon and they told me that it will cost $321 to repair the LCD. I might as well buy a new one that has more megapixels and is water resistant. Bah. Spending more money is NOT what I want to hear. Boo that.

Anyhows, my neighbouring stall was a nice Indian lady who is a full-time artist. She was doing henna painting and check out what my mum got...

I've always wanted a Celtic Cross tattoo on my ankle so I thought I'd try out a henna rosary tattoo first. See whether I like having something on my ankle. I must say that I still like the Celtic Cross idea but I think I'll have a very small one right beside my Archilles heel. A small one. I'd probably have to scrap the Celtic design...too intricate and detailed. Mum will balk after reading this and will come in and tell me "Don't you DARE get another tattoo!!" :P She's cool with henna and washable ones though. Haha...she even liked this rosary one and even mentioned that "It looks like it's swinging". ;)

All in all, it was a good day and I'm very pleased with this bazaar. I'm definitely joining next year's bazaar and you guys are all invited to come down!

I did a little "remodelling" in my work cubicle today. I shifted my computer from a corner to a side so that my back faces the wall, pulled a shelf out from the bottom of my table to create a side and I changed my wallpaper and screensaver to that of Niagara Falls.

Why?

To optimise the feng shui. Apparently, my back should face a solid wall or backing. My previous position left my back vulnerable and to make things worse, my back faced a corridor. So, my energy was flowing out.

I've since fixed that and I feel a lot more energised and better. Mum reckons that its psychological and that feng shui is about being practical. Mmm...well, psychological or not, I don't feel like someone's watching over my shoulder all the time now. Now, I need to add a small mirror to view the "entrance" of my cubicle and add some pictures of water or fish swimming into my cubicle. Yes...money come!!!

I expected myself to be shocked, horrified and be in that nail-biting-wanna-pee-in-my-pants moment. Alas, it was not to be. There were tons of creepy moments but that was just about it. Creepy. Nothing else. I won't be having nightmares/ dreams tonight. How disappointing.

They had it all in there...the recipe for pure horror was all there! The fact that it's in 3D made it even better because those creepy objects really looked like they were going to fly into your face. I think it is the way the story was told. The director tried to be intelligent and pulls the character from past to present to imagination and then back to reality. Good concept but the execution seems rather lacking. Perhaps horror flicks should stick to a certain formula to ensure the spooks.

Nevertheless, I would enjoy another horror movie in 3D. Potential to really scare you to bits!!

Met Cubey at the bus stop on Saturday and she informed me that a classmate of ours in Secondary School is now 5 months pregnant.  I had a similar conversation with Mel Li about friends our age becoming mothers and the reaction that I normally have is as follows:

1.       Shit! Am I that old?

2.       Shit! I want one too!!

3.       Darn…but I don’t feel that old

4.       Harumph…where’s my boyfriend and hubby-to-be lurking?

5.       Bbbutt…my career hasn’t settled yet!!

Yes…more and more of my friends are getting married, settling down, becoming fathers and mothers.  Gosh…I definitely have NOT crossed that path in life yet.  Am a happy bachelorette except when those maternal instinct/ bio-clock starts ticking.  As a former tutor said to me once, “Your expiration date is coming.” Gah….

Celebrated my parents' wedding anniversary last night and we went to Shashlik Restaurant (located at Far East Shopping Centre, 6F). My gosh. The place hasn't changed at all. How nostalgic it was for me!!

My parents used to bring my bro and I there when we were kids and I can still recognise the faces of some of the wait staff. Yes! They're still there!! Amazing, isn't it?


As this is a Russian restaurant, my dad ordered his favourite (and their signature) Borsch soup. Tastes the same - according to my dad.


We also ordered a starter of egg topped with caviar (I know...it seems as if I'm eating eggs everyday), smoked salmon, assorted slices of ham, crab meat and prawn. We were so hungry, we didn't even leave any cabbage leaf on the plate!


That, my friends, is the wait staff (one of the oldies) placing my wonderful shashlik of beef on a hotplate. The beef was tender and juicy. Seared to perfection and marinated with enough garlic to add flavour but not chase away vampires (and humans) 10 miles away.


Mum's Fillet Steak - she made the mistake of ordering it Medium Well. She then complained that it was too dry and she was expecting some kind of sauce. Mmm...firstly, the steak comes on a hotplate, so you should order it one level below the usual done-ness that you prefer. Secondly, good steaks do not need sauces to mask its flavour. Anyway, I ended up eating a quarter of her steak 'cos she was "full" from eating dry meat. She complained that its too cooked. Uh...Medium Well is just one level away from Well Done. -__-;

BAKED ALASKA!!! *huge grin* Gosh...I'm a kid again! I haven't eaten this in ages and I simply love the burnt bits of cream together with the cake that's soaked with alcohol. Mmm...yummmmmmm......

This dinner has everything I enjoy: good food, good company, nostalgia....only bad thing was that I had to pay for it. Haha....just kidding.

Celebrated my dear friend's birthday today, although it's waaaaay in advance, and it was a nice time hanging out with my besties at Overeasy. As usual, we had lots of yummy food, wine and cake! :)

Spicy wings - we ordered 'average' spiciness and I seriously do NOT want to try the HOT one. Yep. They're spicy all right. Love the blue cheese dip though.

Their signature Blackforest Mohjitos are worth it. Refreshing, fruity and alcoholic. Yum!


Devilled eggs. They are quite cute but I wasn't craving eggs...so I only ate one piece.

The Mac & Cheese is divine! Really gorgeous on the palette. Mmm.....yums....

Beer battered dory fillets. Mm...well, tastes just like any other fish and chips (minus the chips). Full marks for presentation though.

It was cam-whoring/playing the whole evening as my dear friend finally took the time to get acquainted with the camera she purchased ages ago.

What's a birthday celebration without a birthday cake?

During the course of dinner, I received a msg from Wenqing regarding the flea that'll be held on Sat, 11 Sep from 11am-8pm at SupperClub, Odeon Towers. Unforch, I've got appointments in the afternoon and evening, so I can't go down and support. But, if you have time and love good bargains, do go down! Thanks mates!
