Welcome to my blog !
Decided to get all floral for Easter week (or octave, technically) so I bought a couple of acrylic paints and drew on watercolour flowers onto my nails. This is the 1st time I'm trying this out and I'm quite pleased with the results. I need more paintbrushes though and I do need to thin the paint down a little more.

A lot of YouTube tutorial videos recommend using a brush to soak up the excess water so as to get that watercolour effect. I've found that using a cottonbud gives you the same effect AND you need not resoak your brush into paint for the next flower.

I did my highlight nails in 1 coat of Ciate's Peppermint followed by 1 coat of OPI's What's With The Cattitude. Why did I do this? Well...I wanted to get a Tiffany blue. Anyway, back to the whole nail design. I'm really happy with it and I will get a tinge of sadness next week when it's time to do another design. Nonetheless, it's always fun to have several designs so do stay tuned!
It has been months of planning with The Bouquet People and a week of (almost) non-stop jewellery making (my right hand still feels a little cramped...hahaha) but it's almost done!  We did our photo shoot yesterday and here's a sneak as to what's in store for 2012!

Above, our photographer Conrad setting up and checking on the lighting while we get our stuff arranged.

Boo Boo the cat getting into our photo shoot and she's very fascinated with our photographer.
Conrad's moving around our hand sewn fur clutch! More details on this soon. :)
Friend Sophia is helping to arrange the jewellery and background materials to ensure that the photo turns out perfect!
Tada...just a quick snap shot of what's in store for Vday! Guys...we're coming up with packages that will make things easy peasy for you while ensuring that your ladies are happy.  Ladies, do get yourself listed on our mailing list by sending an email to us at info@oopsiwannasay.com with the subject title "Mailing List" OR Like us on Facebook so that you can tag your guys on the stuff that you like! ;)

Some background on Oct 1983 x The Bouquet People:
We've known each other since Junior College (High School for those living in the US) and had joined hands in setting up jewellery and handicraft stalls during our University days.  Although our career paths diverged after graduation, we remain creative and have now joined hands to showcase our love for creating fun but classic designs for all. 'Tis the season for loving!

I have finally finished launching the "Titania" and "Cutie Pie" for Oct 1983's Spring/Summer 09 collection!

Those who are on my mailing list or you're very very good friend, you'd also get my newsletter (yup, I've finally managed to work out the kinks but it didn't involve win word). If you would like to be on my mailing list, kindly send me an email with the header "Mailing List".

I have also brought in some handwoven straw bags that are in such lovely juicy colours - couldn't resist them. I am always tempted to keep stuff that I buy for Oct 1983. Shopping's always half the fun! ;)

Since its Spring/Summer and its about new life etc., I've made a couple of 'nests' pendants with pearl 'eggs'.

They're so adorable, I'm thinking of making another one for myself. =P Another wiry idea came to my mind as well. I'm gonna make something with copper and brass together. Wonderful colours.

This season is all about COLOURS! Yay...gone is the doom and gloomy blacks/ greys and browns of Autumn/Winter 08.

Tada...my bear bear makes its own statement with the red chair! Reminds me of tea parties with dolls and teddy bears. Yeah...back to my childhood! :)

All pieces can be purchased at www.oct1983.com.sg and as one of my previous posts stated, first 15 customers who buy online will get a free goodie bag! They're going...going...better get them before they're all gone!!

If you're the sort who prefers to see the actual products before purchasing, come on down to Jazz@Southbridge this Sun, 19 Apr! I'll be there will all my products (except those that have been sold and those priced above $100) from 1-6pm.

I'm going to make a few more charm bracelets...once I figure out how to cut the thick chain that I bought. Smart of me.... :P
