Welcome to my blog !
Went to watch "Ninja Assassin" with my family today and boy was it violent and gruesome. Not much of a plot nor storyline (was expecting that) but it was cool nonetheless (expected that too)!

Rain is the ninja assassin Raizo who was kidnapped as an orphan into the ninja clan, Ozunu, when young and trained to kill. He betrays the clan after seeing his loved one killed after her attempt to flee. He then makes it his mission to kill the leader of the clan and wipe them out.

The same people who brought you the "Matrix" trilogy are the ones producing this film, so there were some funky camera shots that zoomed in and out while shifting between slow-mo and normal speed during one key fighting scene. The violence is ala Quentin Tarantino where there are dismembered body parts, beheading scenes and blood spurting everywhere. But of course, there was none of that sense of comic-irony that's signature of Tarantino.

Watch this to oogle at Rain's fatless body (maybe I should go on a chicken & veg only diet), oooh at the cool film making, aaaah at the exciting martial arts sequences (ie. fighting scenes) and marvel at the fact that this is one Hollywood film with TONS of Asians! Wooohoo!! Not to mention, how Rain's gonna really be huuuuuge in the international scene. ;)

Boo! Bet you were shocked when you first saw this pic! ROFL...

Sorry, sorry...yes, it's me and my sick sense of humour. This pic is quite delayed. I had meant to put it up on Halloween itself but was rather busy. My bro and his colleagues had a halloween party thingy and they bought these masks so he brought it home to 'transform' my pooch into a bloodthirsty wolf. If Baileys was grey, he'd blend in and will really look scarier!! Anyhows, we were both surprised at how Baileys let us put this mask on him and take photos without him thrashing his head around. Yay...Happy Belated Halloween!! HAHAHA

Oooh...look what the mail brought it last week! The English samples of the current comic series that I'm translating for Chuangyi Publishing - Mixim 11!! It is a shounen manga, meaning that it is meant more for boys rather than girls. Explains the tons of action scenes, fighting and less dialogue.

There's a slight thrill seeing my name as the translator and yes, there definitely is a sense of satisfaction in seeing this final product and knowing that there will be many kids out there enjoying my translation. :D

I'm not sure when these comics will hit the stands. If you already see it on the shelves in bookstores, do let me know! Volume 4 is sitting on my desk and ready to be translated. Have fun reading them, folks!

Was hunting around for black sesame ice cream in Jurong Point the other day and hopped into Yamakawa Supermarket. Look what funky Kit Kat flavours I've bought!! Apple vinegar, vegetable and fruit juice (tie in with the brand Ito En) and Plum Soda (aka Ume soda).

Taste test - First up was the Ume Soda. I'm a huge fan of ume wine, ume boshi and ume soda. I thought that this would up the ante on all the ume-flavoured foods that I've tried before. Well, they've managed to get a slight tingly sensation on the tongue, which is characteristic of soda. However, the ume flavour wasn't as wow as I was expecting. Not a bad try though.

Next is the apple vinegar. The refreshing smell of apples hits you when you tear the packet open. MMmm....that's already a winner for me. I was expecting it to be sour (vinegar...duh) however, I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't sour but the slight tartness is like eating lemon cupcakes. It was much nicer on the palette compared to the ume soda. 1 thumb up!!

Lastly, the fruit and vegetable juice. Now, those who know me will know that I semi-survived on Ito En's fruit and veggie juice when I stayed in Japan because fruit and veg is extremely expensive there. However, we all need our bowels to move...so this was a 'cheap' alternative. So...I was just extremely curious as to how this concoction was going to work with chocolate. Once more, the refreshing smell of apples and a lingering scent of citrus hits you when you open the packet. The taste of it is just fruity! In a good way, of course.

All in all, I think these funky flavours are yummy and worth a try! I wonder whether I ought to try the isotonic drink flavour next....hmmms....oh, they only 100 calories per packet....so, *grin* you can eat one a day almost guilt-free! :D I like!!

The Good – My miu miu bag is back from the cleaners and it looks almost spanking brand new except for some cracking and the fact that it is a little stiffer :(

The Bad – I haven’t done my Christmas shopping!!! :((

The Ugly – some idiot hacked into my Paypal account and made 2 transactions. Thank goodness Paypal found out about it and stopped it. &*&)#($*&()&^ to whoever hacked into my account. I’m so poor already!! Don’t need hackers to try to leech more money from me!! :(((

Big hugs to Moon and her mum.

Received a text message from Moon at 4 am yesterday informing me that her father has passed away.

All of us were quite shocked at the speed of his demise as you've read in my previous post that the doctors had given him 3-6 months more.

Who are we to decipher the complexity of life? When it's time, it's time. The main comfort that Moon and family have is that he didn't suffer.

My dear Moon - your family will always be in our thoughts. You take care too and get some rest.

How long more we have in this world, we do not know. That's why we need to treasure each passing moment as if its our last.
I want to clone myself.

If you've watched the manga/ anime "Naruto", you'll understand what I mean when I say that I want to 'kagebunshin' myself.

Multiple Mels. Hur hur...may not be a better world but it'll definitely be better for me! Hiak hiak...

I've been so busy with work from day till night that I wish that I can clone myself. 1 to do my full time work, 1 to do my Oct 1983 products, 1 to watch all my anime/ dramas, 1 to do my translation work and another to another one to just upkeep the websites/ newsletter.

I must not complain. Being busy and having work is better than not having anything to do, bumming around.

However, the past couple of weeks have made me think that I really don't mind being a housewife. *gasp* A housewife? Some of you might be screaming, "You got a degree to only have the ambition to be a housewife?" or "Babe, women have fought soooo hard to have equal rights as men and you're shackling yourself to the traditional female role?"

Haha...well...ok, more like a tai-tai. I like cooking, making the house look pretty but I hate cleaning up. :P Ladida....

Anyhows...on a more sombre note, today marks my granny's 1 yr anniversary. Time flies. It has already been a year. Always missed, always remembered.
