I just removed my stitches yesterday so I feel a lot more comfortable now! :) I now have 2 small crosses (scars) and a line...haha...'battle wounds'. Anyway, thing is that endometriosis is a long term condition so I am currently on a treatment where I get a series of injections that block my oestrogen so that I go into a semi-menopausal state to prevent this endometriosis from recurring. Well, I'll have to stop it when I want to get preggers. Such joy, isn't it? You can read an article written by my gynae here regarding this condition.
Anyway, to celebrate my removal of stitches as well as finally solving my whole really bad period problem, I decided to put on the fake nails ($3.50) which I bought some time ago.
Looks a little chin chiong, I know, but I found it rather sweet. However, if you follow me on twitter, you'll know that the caption read "Nails for the Day?" I normally change my nail design once a week. In this case, the stupid pack only had ONE nail per size. How silly is that?? I couldn't deck out all my nails in the end because there wasn't any nail small enough for my right index finger! Ok...this is the follow up to my tweet. The nails didn't even last an hour. The left pinky dropped out after an hour. Then when I went to bed, the left fourth nail came out. When I woke up this morning at 10am, all the white flowers had dropped out. After my shower, the left thumb dropped off. Pathetic glue and bits. The next time I decide to go cheapo, it had better be from Daiso. As I'm typing this, only the right third and fourth nails are still attached. I'm going to take them off soon. :P
So...instead of being a fun girly nail affair, it turned into a teeth-baring "I-wanna-rip-you-guys-off" moment with said nails. Sigh. Shall celebrate in other ways. Korean BBQ anyone?

Hey all, I've just had another surgery done and this time, it is to remove all the growth in my fallopian tubes, near my ovaries as well as parts of my intestines. My condition is known as endometriosis and this explains the PCOS, the excessive bleeding, irregular periods, depression and even lethargy.
The best decision that I've ever made was to just not care about the money and go see my private gynae. If I had stayed with SGH, they would've still kept their diagnosis that I've got borderline PCOS and I would've continued to suffer month after month. I nearly fainted twice last year and thank goodness both times I was at home. My current gynae was quite upset that the doctors in the A&E didn't detect the thick uterine lining and see it as a cause of worry.
Anyway, what causes endometriosis? Doctors still don't know and it could be hereditary and exacerbated with stress. Worst part of this is that it can recur. So now, I have to go see my gynae for regular injections. To add, he advised that once I get married, to hurry and get pregnant because my condition makes it tough for me to conceive. Such good news, isn't it? Well, with this surgery, I really hope to be back to normal and live life normally. This should help my weight loss since my hormones should be going back to normal.
So ladies, if you have more than 2 of the symptoms that I had mentioned earlier, please go and see a reliable gynaecologist.

You guys HAVE to watch these ads. They're hilarious and really smart marketing! I wish I could come up with such ads but I reckon my Marcomm will say that they're not 'corporate' and 'professional' enough. Ah well...we all need a good laugh once in a while.

It's the most important meal in the day and it's the one meal where I feel is simple but yet oh so satisfying when you eat something nice and hot. I'm obviously not talking about cereals and fruits. With any of my cravings, I just have to satisfy them and I'm fussy about 2 things - my French toast and scrambled eggs.
First up: French Toast. To me, the perfect French Toast has to have lots of cinnamon and the bread must be soaked with the egg mixture. Not the crap that a lot of places serve where the egg only coats the bread and is tasteless.
Below is a pic of my French toast which I used wholemeal bread (I still want to feel slightly 'healthy' about this), dusted it with desiccated coconut and sandwiched a banana between the slices while they were still warm. This caused the banana to lightly soften and sweeten further. Would've been excellent if I had powder sugar but...I was feeling slightly guilty from all the sugar I added to the egg mixture.
Ahh...scrambed eggs. How much do I love thee. Ironically, I think Mc Donald's has one of the better scrambled eggs out there. Scrambled eggs need to be light, fluffy and soft. If you want to cook the perfect scrambled eggs, your pan must be at low heat and you just run through the egg with a fork while it slowly cooks. Of course, the beauty is also in the amount of milk that you add to the egg mixture. Just a dash will do. Top it all off with cracked black pepper and if you're feeling luxurious, a few shreds of cheddar/ mozzarella cheese. Yum!

OMG...I'm so excited about L'arc en Ciel's concert in Singapore on 28 Apr. Finally! I've been waiting for so long for them to come to my little island!! :D My friend was so cute. She managed to get the fan club first release of tickets and bought our tickets even before it was released to the public. :)
It's their 20th anniversary and they're doing a world tour. I just read a review of their NYC concert at Madison Square Garden and I'm really looking forward to it. My colleague also just revealed to me that she'll be going for the concert and she actually bought the $228 category ticket. My jaw dropped. I am only able to afford the $148 category and that's me not buying clothes/ shoes/ books for the whole of March. I've been very disciplined.

I had bought some discount vouchers via Reebonz a couple of months back so last night, I decided to bring the family to eat them crabs before they expire. So...we headed to the House of Seafood located in Changi. It was a bit out of the way but the place surprised us by having rows of cars parked outside it! This particular branch was really cosy as the alfresco area had individual canopies, a koi pond in the middle (these koi are fed through milk bottles) and a small enclosure with 2 bunnies.
Ok...back to the food. We ordered their signature Salted Egg crab, steamed crab ($50 for 900g), beancurd with spinach and conpoy as well as Strawberry beer.
The beancurd ($16) was very yummy and the fragrance of the conpoy/ dried scallops came through the sauce. The beancurd was nicely fried and the spinach added a nice veg taste to it all.
Their salted egg crab deserves some mention, if not for the taste then for the presentation of fried yam shreds. The generous sauce is a bit sweet but the taste of curry leaves do balance it all and makes you want to dip every morsel of crab into the sauce. Alternatively, you can just drown your rice with the sauce.
I didn't take a pic of our steamed crab as my hands were busy peeling the shell and just eating the delicious crab. That said, if you like your crabs to taste fully like crab, I recommend ordering that instead. The crab is steamed with ginger and huatiao wine as well as on a thin layer of steamed egg. No sauce to rave about but the crab is fresh - that's the most important! You can see the aftermath below...
To wash it all down, I highlight recommend the strawberry beer ($8/bottle). The first sip is a bit acidic but the fragrance and sweetness of the strawberry soon comes through while the end notes are of the white beer. This is how I like beer to be - sweet. It's not sweet like cocktails so even my dad enjoyed it.
Good food aside, I was slightly disappointed with the service because I had called to make a reservation but when I turned up, they didn't have any record of my reservation. To add, we had ordered a plate of french beans but it never came because the waitress didn't take it down. She was probably distracted by how we requested NOT to have any salt and MSG in all the dishes.
Would I go there again? Well, generally I would as the food really comes piping hot and they're really quite good. They have 3 branches - 180 Yio Chu Kang, Bedok and finally the 30 Cosford branch in Changi.
